Where Learning Knows No Walls

At Alleyn Court, we believe that the most exciting and profound learning often happens outside the classroom. Our comprehensive Outdoor Learning and Forest School programme is a cornerstone of our curriculum, providing a unique and invaluable experience that nurtures happy, confident, and curious children. We are incredibly proud of our fantastic facilities, including a large private and secure pond.

Our Forest school

Our commitment to outdoor learning is demonstrated by our dedicated Forest School site and timetabled lessons. This means we have qualified Forest School practitioners who lead sessions, a commitment to a long-term programme, and a focus on child-led, nature-based learning.

Your child will have the freedom to explore, take safe risks, and develop a genuine appreciation for the natural world.

This is a key point of difference for us, we don't just have a patch of grass. We have a purposeful, natural environment that is integral to our curriculum, taught by highly trained staff.

The Benefits of Learning in Nature

Our outdoor programme is designed to cultivate key skills and attributes that last a lifetime, all in a fun and engaging way.

Confidence and Resilience

By overcoming challenges like building a shelter or navigating a new space, pupils develop a "can-do" attitude that strengthens their confidence.

Problem-Solving Skills

From identifying different plants to working together to tie a knot, outdoor learning encourages creative and practical thinking.

Physical and Motor Skills

Sessions provide opportunities for active, physical play, helping to develop balance, coordination, and fine motor skills in a natural setting.

Teamwork and Communication

Children learn to collaborate and communicate effectively, taking on different roles within a team.

Appreciation for Nature

By connecting with the natural world, our pupils develop a deeper sense of environmental awareness and responsibility.

Our Forest School in Action

Outdoor learning is fully integrated into our curriculum from the Early Years through to Prep. Every child has dedicated time in our Forest School, led by our qualified practitioners. Sessions are dynamic and tailored to the children’s interests, but common activities include:
