Year 2 Visit the RNLI Station

Year 2 have been learning about Southend as part of our Geography topic. We have discussed some of the benefits of living near the seaside and decided to  take a look at some of the physical and human features of Southend for ourselves. We checked the beaches and decided if they had the qualities to be awarded a Blue Flag award. We also had the opportunity to visit the RNLI Station and find out all about their fantastic work and how to stay safe near the water. We had a great tour and we were allowed to climb aboard the hovercraft. The best bit was being able to dress up as crew members!
