Our Aims
At Alleyn Court Prep School we teach French to all children, whatever their ability. A modern foreign language forms part of the school curriculum policy to provide a broad and balanced education to all children. Through our teaching of French we provide learning opportunities that enable all pupils to make progress. We do this by setting suitable learning challenges and responding to each child’s different needs.
At Alleyn Court Prep School we make Modern Languages an enjoyable learning experience. All pupils start learning French in the last year of Pre-prep and are taught by a qualified, French native speaker all the way to Year 6.

Learning Support Department:

Alleyn Court is a non selective school so there are some pupils who require extra support. Any pupil who is causing concern to staff is referred to the ASU (Academic Support Unit) for assessment. This leads to either further monitoring of this pupil or a plan to offer extra support either in the classroom or in small groups. The school has a number of teaching assistants who are deployed by the SENCo and the Junior School Coordinator to support these pupils. Targets are set and parents are kept informed of progress.

Alleyn Court was one of the first Prep Schools in the country to offer specific support to dyslexic pupils and this continues with the Alpha to Omega Programme on offer to all those diagnosed with dyslexia.

The SENCo will meet prospective parents who feel that their child may require support to discuss the needs of the child and what the school has to offer.

The Music Department at Alleyn Court is an exciting place to be!
