Geography is the exploration and understanding of the children’s surroundings in the world in which we live.
Aims
At Alleyn Court, we hope to develop our pupils’ knowledge of places and environments throughout the world, give them an understanding of maps, and provide them with a range of investigative and problem-solving skills both inside and outside the classroom.

The Curriculum
In the Pre-Prep, Geography is introduced as part of Cultural Studies. A variety of visual and physical resources are used to give the pupil an initial impression of the world around them. In the Junior school, The National Curriculum for Geography is taught by class teachers and is timetabled to fill a one hour slot per week. In the Senior school, Geography is taught by a subject specialist to all pupils in Year 4-6.
