This year‘s field of teams and runners was the largest so far in the history of the Essex Primary Schools Championships. The Year 5 girls produced a superb result to become County Team Champions.
Held at Princethorpe College on Saturday 5th March 2011.
The course was a very challenging one for our runners and the competition was very tough. In the Year 5/6 Girls‘ race, Meghan Samuels was our highest placed runner finishing in an excellent 6th place. She was supported by Ella Healy 26th, Sophie Rankin 46th and Isobel Foley 47th. In the Year 5/6 Boys‘ race, Mitchel Cox led the race from the start and fin- ished with a thirty meter margin to be crowned National Champion, an outstanding achievement. Charlie Lockhart ran well to finish in 35th position. (Luckily our runners had a better sense of direction on the course than Mr Hart did in getting to the event! He took the very scenic tour of the Midlands route.)
The match of the term so far took place on open day. The clash of 6C v 6L proved to be a fantastic game. A fast paced highly skilled game producing some outstanding play. Harrison John due to his ball distribution and high work rate was MVP. This game was a pleasure to ref!! Well done to all who played in this fantastic spectacle.
Held at Southend Rugby Football Club. Warners Bridge. Thursday 17th March 2011.
This was the first time we have entered this tournament. There were four pool competitions. Two for the East Partner- ship(SESSP) and two for the West Partnership (SWSSP). Our first games were in Pool A for the SESSP. The winners and runners up of Pool A then played the winners and runners up from SESSP Pool B.
