A fantastic day of tag rugby. Despite the bitterly cold weather we produced some outstanding team work to win all six pool games. Our strong direct running and excellent support play produced 57 tries in total. However it was our tack- ling, defensive alignment and team discipline that separated us from our opponents , as we only conceded 20 tries.

The final was very close, having taken an early lead after scoring two tries we made some simple handling errors that allowed Heycroft to score twice and level the score. They then scored and put us under pressure. However we main- tained our discipline and tackled excellently. We levelled the score to three tries apiece. Once again Heycroft replied with an impressive individual try. With time running out we needed a quick response; this came from an interception and again we were all square. From the restart our team put immense pressure on the Heycroft players and forced a turnover. With the ball in our hands we made no mistakes and scored to run out Tournament winners. The squad: E.Butt 9t, H.Arch 2t, E.Baglow 1t, E.Carter, L.Macnamara 5t, S.Hardie 3t,L.Albon 11t ,T.Pinkerton 3t, J.Metha 3t , F.James 9t , D.Smith 6t, D.L.Smith 6t.

The team had great support from parents and friends. Many thanks to all the supporters, Joe Hart and Sheldon for their help in looking after the team.
